Get off on the right foot!
It's about that time of year to kick things off with our teams and get everyone pulling on that same rope of building better players on and off the field. One thing I think makes us unique is our approach to the entire player, not just chasing baseball victories. We also do our best to help you as parents as well. Through our time here, we have learned some common flaws in raising an athlete and how we can work together to keep kids involved in sports. Sports provide a great outlet for kids and we want to ensure that our players love this game and our parents are here to enjoy the ride it provides.
We have our Parent Handbook that all parents are required to read. Within the website, we also have a Parent Program filled with videos and devotionals helping you along this journey. Please take some time to look through these.

W.I.N - What's important now?
In 2017 we started a little baseball team that has turned into M-Pact Baseball.
A couple of years later we had 3 teams made up of mostly my friends who needed somewhere for their kid to play. We were starting to figure out ways to create a culture.
In 2019, I was also coaching a basketball team with 5th grade boys. They were very talented. Undefeated in the regular season and qualified for a state tournament. They were a great little team but sometimes mentally they would get in their own way, and I needed to find a way to help them.
I was trying to find something to help them overcome the fear of the future and focus on being present. I had an idea but couldn’t put it to words.
A week or two before the State tournament, I went on a work retreat and the guest speaker spoke about being present in your relationships. He gave a great talk.
A few days later, Luis Navertte from our Metapec church that Mission Road sponsors, was in town and he preached that Sunday. He told a story about being trapped in a bank vestibule and compared it to God keeping him in the moment.
I realized God was trying to tell me to help the kids just be in the moment and not worry about what’s coming.
After the service, Luis and I talked for a while, and we came up with the idea together of "OwnTheNow".

That phrase helped that little team make it all the way the state championship game finishing runner up.
It also has been printed on these bracelets every year since 2019 for all the kids who play here with M-Pact.
Reach of the Mission
Luis was here a few weeks ago, he asked me for some advice. He wanted help with getting more parents involved in a soccer program. Me not being very smart I wasn’t sure what soccer program he was describing.
He shared with me something that was so humbling to me and showed me that God’s plan and the way he works goes beyond language barriers and countries.
Luis shared these photos with me of IMPACT Soccer School in Metapec!! Named after our little Shawnee OK baseball squads.
They started this program to mirror what we do here for baseball, and we will begin to share the program with one another. As of right now they have about 25 players.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare[b] and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Being Present
As we are kicking off a new year, there are a lot of things coming down the road that we should be excited for. Remember to be present, in the moment, and following what God’s plan is for us.
You never know what seems like a small idea shared with someone can turn into when God gets involved!
Specialty Camps Scheduled
We have some camps booked for this pre-season. Our camps are beyond your normal "pay your money, get a tshirt" style camps. We teach your player detailed concepts to make them better at their craft as well as helping them become better thinkers. You will not be disappointed in what your player or possibly even you will take away from the camps. All signups can be done through our website on the events link. More to be posted soon too. All proceeds from the camps go back into M-Pact allowing us to continue to provide training for your players.

M-Pact and Magic Family Get Together
We would love to have a community wide get together before our season kicks off. Not a meeting, nothing boring, just a time to get together as a community. We have a possible guest speaker as well. If you have any ideas or would like to help organize this event please contact Jason Conley, 405-417-0062.
Final Thoughts
Let's kick off this season on the right foot
