Encourage One Another

In our off season, I was working on the pre-season training that we would utilize at the indoor facility. One thing I think makes M-Pact unique is we teach the mental component to this game. Each week we have different thoughts, ideas, examples, or anything that gets the players minds centered and focused.

One topic is blocking out the noise. We live in a world of distractions. On the field and off. When we kick off our seasons, as most of you probably experience too, we get bombarded with GroupMe messages! I am sure no one is a huge fan of GroupMe!

I guess one day, I blocked out the noise. I discovered a few days later that I missed a message from a parent. That parent had taken the time to tell us at M-Pact what the program has meant to their son.

It’s amazing how that little bit of encouragement can get you excited to take on the next challenge!

It’s not easy to take the time out to encourage one another when we are so busy with our own schedules and tasks. When we hear “Encouragement” we all probably think of the loud cheerleader type encouragement but sometimes all it has to be is a simple thank you or a kind word to someone.

Romans 15:5-6

5 May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, 6 that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God is having the endurance to continually encourage you! If we are made in God’s image as it says in Genesis, we to have that ability to encourage one another even when it gets too busy to do so. Challenge yourself to encourage others, you will be surprised how it immediately lifts you up as well to praise someone else.

Two Tips for Encouraging Others:

1. Walk along side of them – Be where they are. Block out the distraction

2. Praise them for their EFFORT, not judge the result. Only way anyone improves at anything is over long-term consistent effort. True improvement doesn’t happen over night

Both of those apply to our players on the field of course but what if we apply that to our daily lives too!

Maybe we could become that one voice of harmony that Paul writes about in verse 5 and 6.

A quote I want to leave you with today

“What’s celebrated is repeated, what’s criticized is avoided.”

OG&E Partnership to Light the Night!

We recently met with OG&E to collaborate on a community project to provide lights at the practice fields! We still have details to iron out and cost involved but in the immediate future, we want to begin a sprint to provide lights and a water system at the fields. Cost for each item are in the works. A well and sprinklers would save all of MP money each year by keeping our grass and dirt in place. Each season we spend on average $500 just on dirt care! This would give us a high level practice facility that no other team could match. More to come soon!

Looking Forward

Elite Infielder Camp

Elite Infield Camp dates are Feb 25th and 26th. Take a minute to read some testimonies from a few players that have benefitted from this training.
